ENGLISH CUISINE
For all our old school customers who reminisce about school dinners, MumZ fix has it covered.
CHICKEN PIE
The Perfect Choice
Growing up we used to have some of the best pies served at lunchtime at my secondary school; the meals were halal and the chicken pies were delicious, always being served with chips and gravy. Eating foods that weren’t traditionally cooked at meal times at home meant that we had to cook these dishes for ourselves when we were old enough to and this is just one example.
SHEPHERDS PIE
Traditional Dish
Shepherd’s Pie used to be on our dining table at least once or twice a fortnight when my children were younger, it was easy to make and they loved the mushy texture. As my children have grown their palates have developed and they seem to be more demanding when it comes to certain types of food, this dish being one of them. Once upon a time they would look forward to it, but as they’ve grown they complain about it being too bland, so this Shepherd’s Pie has been revised to suit their ever changing taste buds.
